The
Bellary Thermal Power Station (BTPS) is located at Kudatini, Bellary
District. The power station will be developed in two stages of 500
MW each. The first Stage will add 3504 MU per annum to the State
grid in the first stage.
The construction of
Stage I, estimated to cost around Rs.2100 Crores is scheduled to
be completed by end of August 2007. The power generated will be evacuated
through the already existing 400 kV Transmission line which connects
to Bangalore via the Davangere sub-station.

- Lifting of Boiler Drum to its position
in 424 days from zero date.
- Completion of Chimney Shell of 275
mt height in 155 days from zero date.
- Completion of 750 cub.mtrs. of TG
desk concreting in a record time of 29 hrs.
- Completion
of Cooling Tower of 143.5 Mtrs in 149 days.
