This old station was commissioned in 1948 and formed the back bone of Mysore State / Karnataka power system. The installed capacity of the Station is 139.2 MW. It has 4 units of 13.2 MW each and 4 units of 21.6 MW each. The station generates 200 Million Units annually. It is located 1.7 Km downstream of Jogfalls on the left bank of Sharavathi river. The station with a head of 356 Mtrs has impulse type horizontal Pelton wheel.
